5 reasons why this is the BEST Islamic swimsuit on the market!
Alhamdulilah, there are plenty of Islamic swimwear options available for Muslim women. It wasn’t too long ago, that this was a large void in the market. It’s great to see that several companies have since stepped up and offered a commercial product that serves the need of Muslim women.
Not long after Bahiya Collections launched, we decided to begin carrying swimwear for Muslim women. As a distributor of other Muslim brands, we researched the various swimsuits on the market to find the one product that we would carry.
It was important that whatever swimwear we carried, complied with the Islamic dress code for Muslim women, and looked awesome at the same time.
After assessing the options out there, we decided that the Alsharifa swimsuit was the BEST on the market. Here are FIVE reasons why!
(1) It is COMFORTABLE to swim in
The swimsuit enables you to glide smoothly in the water without it getting in your way and making you feel uncomfortable. The swimsuit is made from water resistant material which minimizes the swimsuit from becoming overly soaked and bogging you down in the water. There are also chords that connect the tunic to the pants, preventing the swimsuit from floating up while you’re swimming.
This ensures that you can swim without compromising your modesty.
(2) It is LOOSELY-FITTED, not tightly fitted
There are quite a number of
swimsuits on the market that are tight, especially on the legs where the shape is very visible. Some swimsuits are tight around the chest area as well. Our standard of modesty from an Islamic perspective is that
the swimsuit needs to be loosely-fitted. The Alsharifa swimsuit is neither tight nor overly baggy.
The tunic length extends between the mid-thigh and knees (depending on your height). For even more modest coverage, the
Riviera style has a longer tunic.

This is a
TWO-piece swimsuit that is simple and easy to put on. There are no zippers or buttons, which can become snagged or loose after continuous use. This swimsuit comes in
pleasant colour combinations, and without any extraneous logos or insignia.
The tapered
design of the sleeves and pants also makes it easier to swim in, as it minimizes splashing. With other swimsuits that have excessive material, it causes unnecessary splashing.
The newer versions of the swimsuit are equipped with buckles on the tunic to easily secure it to the pants. This makes it convenient if someone needs to use the restroom. There are also clips on the hem of the pants which can be adjusted to tighten or loosen the width of the pant bottom
(for the Riviera style).
(4) It is WATER-RESISTANT
This swimsuit is constructed from a mix of polyester and spandex with some fabric treatment to lower water absorbency. Some swimsuits absorb water, causing the swimsuit to stick to your body and weigh you down when you come out of the water. With the Alsharifa swimsuit,
water absorbency is reduced.
A water-resistance test was done comparing the Alsharifa swimsuit to the Burqini.
The test revealed conclusively, that water was much less water-absorbant with the Alsharifa swimsuit!
